She’s had a brief audience with the Queen, received two visits from her paternal grandfather, and has spent extended time with her maternal granny, Carole Middleton.  Now, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge is en route to Anmer Hall in Norflk, a wedding gift from Her Majesty.

The couple pulled out of Kensington Palace today in their range rover, with the back windows blacked out to provide privacy for Prince George and Charlotte.  Catherine wore Beulah London’s “Brisa” scarf and her Annoushka pear-shaped pearl earrings, while William was at the wheel.

Anmer Hall, a ten-bedroom mansion, sits on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate.  The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been overseeing renovations on the home, previously occupied by Prince Charles’ good friend, the late Hugh van Cutsem and his wife, Emilie, among other tenants.

The property boasts a swimming pool, tennis court and fully renovated kitchen, to name a few features.  William and Catherine made the property more private by redesigning the driveway and adding lots of trees, as well as building accommodations for their staff, including nanny Maria Borrallo.

While Kensington Palace is the family’s “official” residence, it’s been reported on several occasions that William and Catherine intend to make Anmer Hall their family home, and hope to spend as much time there as possible.  William will resume work as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance Unit in June, where his job will take him to locations near the Norfolk home.

As is customary in the royal family, William and Catherine will likely undertake an overseas tour next spring.  Speculation points to an official visit to the Caribbean, where 9 of the 16 Commonwealth realms are located, according to the Telegraph.  Nothing has been confirmed by Kensington Palace, not least the question of whether or not they will bring their children along.

It’s likely that William and Catherine will release an official family photo in a month or so, and Princess Charlotte’s next appearance will be at her christening which, if I had to guess, will take place in July, just before Her Majesty’s annual holiday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

I’m hoping to see Catherine (and George, for that matter) on Buckingham Palace’s balcony in June for Trooping of the Colour.  Other than that, Her Royal Highness is not expected to schedule any engagements through the summer, so that she can focus on raising her family.
