Just as they did at the 2012 Olympics, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attended the opening ceremony of the 2015 Rugby World Cup last night.

Catherine and William were all smiles and laughing during the festivities, which included the first game of the cup, England vs Fiji.

According to What Kate Wore, Her Royal Highness wore the “Emile” sharply tailored coat by Reiss in Vibrant Blue (sold out, soz), and carried her Beulah London Shibani scarf , and Mulberry Bayswater.  Catherine adorned her ears with Mappin & Webb‘s “Empress” drop earrings.

True love, man.  You can’t fake it.

Back to the match…

Rugby faces!

The last time these three were spotted at a rugby game was back in 2007:

As the honorary president of England Rugby 2015, Prince Harry kicked off the evening with a speech, declaring that “In six weeks’ time, one team will take its place in history. It’s up to every one of us to raise the roof on each match in this unforgettable journey.

“Game on!” the prince declared.

Like his grandmother, the Queen, did at the London games opening ceremony, Harry took part in a skit to open the Cup, much to the delight of everyone. The short film showed the origins of rugby in 1832, when William Webb Ellis decided to run with the ball during a game of football with his friends:
