ITV’s long-awaited documentary, The Queen at 90 will air in the UK on March 27th.  Previews for the Robert Hardman-helmed special show fantastic clips featuring the Duchess of Cambridge in her first ever interview.

Catherine spoke fondly of her grandmother-in-law, revealing that her son, Prince George has a special name for The Queen.

“George is only two and a half and he calls her Gan-Gan,” Catherine, in a blue Rebecca Taylor outfit, said.

“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay and that just shows her love for the family.”

Princess Charlotte’s May 2nd birth was cause for celebration, especially for Gan-Gan.

“It’s very special having a new little girl… I feel very lucky, very lucky that George has got a little sister,” Catherine revealed.

“The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors here.”

Catherine did not spend the night inside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Instead, Her Royal Highness and William returned home a mere ten hours after she gave birth.

Catherine credits Her Majesty will helping her to adjust well to royal life, something she herself had little of when she ascended the throne at 25 years old.

“She’s been very generous in not being forceful at all and in any of her views, but I feel she’s been there, a gentle guidance really for me,” Catherine said.

“The most memorable engagement for me was an away-day to Leicester. I went without William, so I was rather apprehensive about that. I think there is a real art to walkabouts,” Catherine said, referring to the royal family’s interaction with the public before an engagement.

“Everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting,” Catherine admitted.  “So I think I’ve still got to learn a little bit more and to pick up a few more tips I suppose.”

Nah, you’re good.

According to the Telegraph, we’ll catch footage of the Duke and Duchess at 2015’s Diplomatic reception, a white tie occasion for which Catherine wore an ice blue Alexander McQueen gown with the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, worn frequently by the late Princess of Wales.
