Every time a Swedish royal gives birth, I eagerly await the blessed child’s christening, as it’s chock full of footage featuring Princess Leonore doing whatever TF she wants.
At her brother, Nicholas’ christening in October, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s firstborn danced along to the rhythm of a beautiful, christening-appropriate musical arrangement, binky in mouth.
Today, Leonore and Nicholas’ cousin, Prince Oscar was christened in the royal chapel.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel welcomed Oscar on March 2nd; he is their second child and first son.
His godparents – HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Princess Madeleine, Mr. Oscar Magnuson (son of Princess Christina of Sweden and Victoria’s cousin) and Mr Hans Astrom (Prince Daniel’s cousin) – were all present for the ceremony, as were members of the royal family, and Prince Daniel’s parents.
Mette-Marit and Frederik’s respective spouses, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mary.
Also present was Leonore’s toy horse:
And Nicolas’ toothbrush (which had a flashing light!):
At one point, Leonore went to check on something, and her miniature velvet-cushion chair went ass-over-tea-kettel.

Meanwhile, Princess Estelle needed a loo break.
She was also bored AF at one point.
So much tom foolery!
And while Madeleine performed her duties as one of Oscar’s godparents, Sweden’s future queen had to deal with her niece.
Meanwhile, Estelle got her cuddle fix from her grandmother, Daniel’s mom.
Leonore waits for her cue to begin dancing.
Estelle wanted to address pressing matters like the whereabouts of the candy dish. Aunts always know where the candy is and won’t yell at you when you ask inappropriate questions like, “when is this thing gonna be over?”

With the ceremony over, the royals held a reception and luncheon for invited guests inside the palace.

Victoria wore a By Malina white dress with a Philip Treacy hat, according to @TheRoyalsAndI.

I’d like to bring up how fantastic the Swedish royal women look, especially given that both Sofia gave birth to a son just over a month ago.
Sofia and Carl Philip’s son, Alexander will likely be baptized in a month or so.
Estelle is second-in-line to the Swedish throne behind her mother.
Never change, Leonore.
Nap time, by the looks of her face.
According to the Swedish monarchy’s website, royal christenings are considered a state ceremony, which is why they’re broadcast live.
