Yesterday, Kensington Palace released four adorable photos of Prince George to celebrate his third birthday.
Normally the Duchess of Cambridge is behind the lens, but this time she and Prince William hired photographer Matt Porteous to snap George at Anmer Hall, the family’s home in Norfolk, England.
One photo from the set has the Royal Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals concerned.
“It is lovely that Prince George is trying to help keep his family dog, Lupo, cool in these high temperatures,” the RSPCA said in a statement, according to the Daily Mirror.
“We would advise people to be cautious when giving their dogs food meant for human consumption as some items, like chocolate, can be highly toxic to dogs and dairy items can be difficult for them to digest.
“Instead of ice cream we would suggest making an ice lolly from pet friendly ingredients.”
Kensington Palace hasn’t said what sort of treat George was feeding the cocker spaniel, though some on Twitter thought it looked like a white chocolate Magnum bar.
Both William and Catherine grew up with dogs, so it’s unlikely they would put their canine friend in danger for the sake of a photo. The treat could very well be dog-friendly.
Let’s move on to more important matters, like George’s wardrobe.
According to What Kate’s Kids Wore, George wore a Whale print cotton sweater and cotton/linen taupe shorts by Pepa and Company.
For his swing photo (which I presume was a wedding gift to his parents), George wore a UV-blocking striped tee from Sunuva, which is currently on backorder (he’s a chip off the old sartorial block).
Also sold out are George’s “Nantucket” shoes from Trotters Hampton Cotton Canvas collection.
People reports that Catherine put on a tea party for the birthday boy at Anmer Hall, but no further details are available, as this is considered a private event.
