Jimmy Fallon/The Tonight Show

Oh, Margot Robbie. Gurl, we have so much to discuss.

The Australian (who is clearly not a monarchist, if the video below proves anything) appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon March 1st to promote her new movie, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Fallon likes to per-interview his guests before the show in an effort to find something interesting to talk about on air.

It just so happened that Robbie had a very entertaining story about a certain royal.

In early February, The Sun reported on a knees-up Prince Harry attended back in December, hosted by Suki Waterhouse.  A party-goer had supposedly Instagram a pic of Waterhouse, Robbie, Sienna Miller, Princess Eugenie and Harry in a photobooth.  Continue reading

Good God in Heaven, some little girl had a Cinderella moment with an actual prince and didn’t bat an eyelash.

Years from now, she’ll gather new friends in her freshman dorm room and trade cans of beer for tales from “Harry and My Wellie: (Almost) A Love Story.”

The Fug Girls found this friggin’ delightful video of Prince Harry in Lancashire, England, where he thanked soldiers for their efforts in aiding villagers affected by major flooding.  Continue reading

Splash News

On March 12th, 2015, the Duchess of Cambridge visited Ealing Studios, where the ITV hit, Downton Abbey was filming its sixth and final season.

Joanne Froggatt, who played lady’s maid Anna Bates, recalled meeting Her Royal Highness to Conan O’Brien on January 21st.

Everything was going well, Froggatt explained, until she unwittingly made a remark that could have been interpreted as dirty.

Catherine watched as Froggatt and Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) filmed a scene in Mary’s bedroom.

“She walked in the room and Michelle and I had to carry on this scene, so before we actually said hello we had to act right in front of her,” Froggatt told O’Brien.

“It was a little bit nerve-racking and I got a bit jittery.  She came over to say ‘hi’ afterwards and I said, ‘Hello, lovely to meet you.'”

Catherine noted that it was “strange” being in Mary’s bedroom.  Continue reading

Netflix

Earlier today, Netflix debuted a trailer for their newest series, The Crown, based on the early reign of Elizabeth II.

The trailer opens with the young queen (played by Claire Foy) testing out St. Edward’s Crown ahead of her June 1953 coronation while her children, Prince Charles and Princess Anne watch.

Charles once said that his mother would come visit him at bath time wearing the crown, attempting to get used to its weight before the coronation.

“I remember my Mama coming, you know, up, when we were being bathed as children, wearing the crown. It was quite funny – practising,” Charles recalled in a 2012 Diamond Jubilee special.

Tonight, Britan’s Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec (what America would have if Idol never fired Brian Dunkleman) hosted an anniversary special to celebrate 40 year’s of Prince Charles’ charity, The Prince’s Trust.

Through job training and programs designed to boost self-confidence, The Prince’s Trust has helped thousands upon thousands of young Brits to beat the odds and rise above their at-risk upbringing.

As ambassadors of the charity, Ant and Dec spent a year focusing on the work Charles has done since 1976 in helping young people to reach their potential.

“There are those that will say he was born into this position of privilege and he can’t possibly empathise with the normal man on the street and the issues that face the ordinary man, but I think he can,” Dec said.

Tonight’s special featured interviews with Prince Harry, Prince William and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as those who have succeeded with the help of the Trust.  Continue reading

Prince Philip Drops an F-Bomb, Remains My Favorite Royal

If there is anyone who can say whatever he wants without the need for an apology, it’s the Duke of Edinburgh.  The man has earned his right to tell you when you’re dragging your feet.

Famous for his “gaffes,” Prince Philip, 94, has long been criticized for saying exactly what’s on his mind, regardless of whether or not it offends his company.  In fact, royal reporter Phil Dampier put together a delightful book of Philip’s zingers.  Philip is hilariously irreverent, and very smart, to boot.

Let’s not forget that this guy was born into a broken family, shipped off to different royal relatives around Europe and never once publicly complained.  He has served as a Naval officer, was a total dish in his day, and has always, always respected his wife. Continue reading
