Hurrah! After waiting all day, fans were treated to a brief glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they headed into New York City’s Carlyle Hotel, their royal tour base through Tuesday.
What Kate Wore, who predicted that Catherine would wear Seraphine Maternity as she did with her first pregnancy, quickly ID’d HRH’s coat as the bespoke “Marina” style.

In the spirit of the occasion, the Empire State Building was lit up in Union Jack colors.

CNN’s Max Foster tweeted that although Prince William will visit the New York landmark, Catherine would skip it.

Tonight, William and Catherine will attend a private dinner on behalf of the American Friends of the Royal Foundation.
What’s nice and “unusual”, as royal reporters Victoria Murphy and Richard Palmer pointed out, is that William and Catherine posed for the pool photographers before heading into their hotel.
